| Excel Transposing columns and rows If you have ever had data in a column and then decided that it would look or work much better in a row (or vice versa) this can be achieved without having to retype it. Instead: |
|
| 1. Copy the data and then click into the first cell in which you want to paste it (not a cell in the selection – you can always use a different sheet). | |
| Excel 2003 | Excel 2007 |
| 2. From the Edit menu, select Paste Special. | 2. Click on the Paste dropdown menu (in the Clipboard group on the Home tab of the ribbon) |
| 3. Tick the Transpose box in the dialogue box. | 3. Select Transpose. |
| 4. Your rows are now columns and your columns have become rows. | |
